When roaming the halls of Embedded World 2014, I stumbled over two agricultural tidbits: one about Fendt and one about Agrifac.
Fendt’s VarioTerminal is powered by a Freescale PowerPC MPC8544. The German company MSC Gleichmann Group (now part of Avnet) provided at least the hardware of the terminal (board and display).
The German company Christ Elektronik provides the driver terminals for Agrifac’s beet-root harvesters. The driver terminal sports a brilliant 12.1-inch PCAP touch display, which remains readable in sunlight. It is powered by an NVIDIA Colibri Tegra 2 T20, which is a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor with a powerful NVIDIA GPU.
